Gyakuten Live! is a Love Live fangame with Ace Attorney-style gameplay. Travel through the adventures of your favourite school idols as you solve mysteries and prove the innocence of your clients. Currently has: 3 episodes, with more on the way!
Episode 1 ~ Birth of a Turnabout
On Ayumu's birthday, an unknown person leaves her a sabotaged gift that ruins her day. The finger is pointed at resident prankster Nakasu Kasumi - but Yu has taken up the task of turning this seemingly-hopeless case around!

Episode 2 ~ Invitation to the Turnabout
A member of the Nijigasaki School Idol Club has bypassed all expected procedures and printed a set of VIP tickets to their next live without authorization. Asaka Karin is the prime suspect of doing so, and the fiasco seems to have attracted the attention of a prosecutor from another school...

Episode 3 ~ Turnabout Chameleon
During Yu and Ayumu's vacation to the town of Numazu, a larceny occurs in the local aquarium, Sea Paradise, as a donated sculpture has gone missing. Local school idol and employee Watanabe You is singled out as the top suspect. However, it looks like Yu and Ayumu aren't the only school idols from Tokyo in the town of Numazu, as a familiar face has recently taken up the role of being a prosecutor and intends to seize victory in this case...!
Episode 4 ~ The Expunged Turnabout (WIP)
(Concept synopsis) In the dark of night, a horrible crime occurs outside Tochiman Inn. Aiming to investigate this crime, a member of the Takami family calls for a School Attorney trial at her high school, Uranohoshi Girls’ High School. Unexpectedly, the alleged culprit is actually a student from Tokyo! Coming to her defense, a certain somebody from Nijigasaki High School prepares to face off against a mysterious prosecutor in court...

Tried to update to v3.0.6 and it said there was a trojan virus in it.
Hope this gets fixed
I think it says that because I'm not like a well-known publisher and didn't "virtually sign" the .exe (it costs money to do so). It's happened to certain people for previous versions as well. Rest assured there's no virus in it, and itch.io apparently screens them for viruses anyway. I have no interest in infecting anyone's computers.
Okay, I almost never do this, but I had to create an account here just to congratulate you on this incredible game. I thought I was going in for some goofy, charming mess of a fangame that I just had to check out.
Turns out, this is ACTUALLY GOOD. First of all, I absolutely ADORE how shameless this is Ace Attorney. The name, the sound effects, all the presentation. This didn't try NOT to be Ace Attorney for a second, and I LOVE IT. I was taken aback by this having an actually animated opening, and the OST is original too, while being very close to Ace Attorney.
As a big fan of the series, I want to say that this work blew me away, and I intend to support it financially in a moment that I'm not broke like I am right now. Please, keep up the good work! This needs to get seen! This needs to go viral! There's so much heart in it, I want everyone to see it!!

I've had issues with loading save files in chapter 3.
I saved and quit in when I first entered Yohane's room when the options to investigate etc. came up, but when I loaded the file, I was back at Yuhi Falls.
Later, I saved in the street after breaking Yohane's psyche locks, and loading that file put me back before I'd broken the locks.
I see what the problem is, it's a bug. Apologies for the inconvenience, I'll have it fixed this weekend!
game soft locks if you fail to break the third Yohane psyche lock, happen to me twice now, also a nice QoL feature would be a chapter select for the individual episodes like in the apollo justice trilogy

Also, I am planning to add mid-episode select as soon as I can get the achievements system in!
I should have mentioned earlier that the game runs fine (I just can't save or load). It's probably on my end.

happens when presenting wrong evidence on the "final" testimony. thought it was fixed, but it happened during a moment where the health bar was oddly missing. ver 3.0.1
Is this the third cross-examination in the final day trial part 2? It has been fixed in a silent update to 3.0.1. Sorry for the inconvenience!

When i try to save or load/continue
I can't seem to recreate this error. My saving and loading have been fine. Perhaps you have files from an older version of the game? If so, navigate to C:\Users\(Username)\AppData\Local\Gyakuten_Live_ and delete or remove the problematic files.
previous versions worked just fine, deleted all files and reinstalled multiple times, still didn't work.

I'll make a post to my Twitter to see if anyone else is having the issue. Is it happening every single time you try to load a file or is it only happening after a certain series of inputs?
Everytime time I try to save, load, or continue.
Just found a glitch, presenting Ruby's profile to Yoshiko presents Hanamaru's instead.
Ok so when you go back to Yoshiko's apartment, presenting Ruby's profile works correctly, so it's only incorrect for the first time you go there.

I'm a big fan of Ace Attorney and Love Live, so seeing a game that put this two things together, is like a dream that i never knew that i had come true, the soundtrack, the gameplay, the art, everything is so good! Thank so much for this, i had alot of fun with the two first cases, waiting excited for the next case!
I saw the first episode on Youtube and played the second and I must say, me who's from the Ace Attorney fandom have really enjoyed this game! The amount of references is just absurdly funny I had to laugh when Dia mentionned the circus or when they said that the One piece is real ^^.
Also the work on the sprites is kinda impressive for a one person game(most of it it would seem) and the osts are absolute banger especially the Pursuit one and its variation. I really hope that this game goes on with on great it is right now, I've even noticed the implementation of some mechanics from DGS. Sure the second episode was really long but I can't say I would like to play more of it
